Welcome to the Redcar Central Station information and marketing page.

Redcar Central Station is a Grade II listed Victorian station and train shed built in c1860 for the extension coastwards of the Stockton-Darlington railway. It was last in use as a business centre which closed in 2013 and has not seen railway use since the late 1980s.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have agreed a long lease of the building from the Arch Company, a new organisation that purchased the majority of Network Rail's commercial properties in 2017.

The plans viewable here will see the Station building and train shed sympathetically restored to its former glory. We are exploring potential uses for the revamped station but expect a mix of daytime and evening uses such as:

Brewery tap/ bar, restaurant, shops, café, flexible spaces, markets, events, community activities, flexible workspaces, Toilets (including accessible spaces and changing facilities).

Rail uses - Indoor waiting areas, rail and other live transport information (subject to rail franchisee integration)

If you are interested in taking space in the building please contact Naylors Gavin Black on 0191 232 7030.
