Guisborough Active Travel Route

GUISBOROUGH ACTIVE TRAVEL UPDATE

The project, a joint initiative with Tees Valley Combined Authority, will connect Guisborough and Nunthorpe.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council will focus on designing a new active travel route through Guisborough Town Centre towards Nunthorpe. When completed, the fully accessible travel route will deliver a number of benefits to the local community, including:

• A safer travel route for children to and from school
• Better connections between Guisborough and Nunthorpe, particularly to the train station, providing better onward travel connectivity
• Safer junctions and crossings, allowing users to feel confident along the route
• An enhanced and better-connected cycle route
• A financial boost to the local economy.

To date, the local community has been very supportive of the project. Through January to April of 2025, we consulted with the community to seek the views and opinions concerning the proposed Active Travel Route.
