Queen Street- Temporary Relocation of Market

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to ensure that the Redcar Friday Market is able to continue during the works to the High Street.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in the length of road specified in the area outlined red in the plan below. The closure will be in operation from 16:00 hours on Thursdays to 17:00 hours on Fridays each week to facilitate the setting up and holding of the Market. Any vehicles left within the area of closure may be removed.

The Order came into operation on 3rd April 2025 and will remain in place for up to 18 months, until such time that the Market is able to move back onto the High Street.
