Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council (the Council) has eight Youth and Community Centres:
Central Area
25K Youth and Community Centre – Redcar
Guisborough YCC
East Area
Skelton YCC
Loftus YCC
Lingdale YCC
Greater Eston Area
Grangetown YCC
California YCC, Eston
Golden Boy Green, South Bank.
Tuned In, Redcar, is currently closed for refurbishment and long-term, the building will be managed by the Growth, Enterprise and Environment Department. Specialist arts and music Youth Clubs which previously ran from Tuned In are currently operating from 25K but will return to Tuned In once the centre reopens.
Each of the three areas has a Neighbourhood Youth Officer employed by the Council who is responsible for the day-to-day management of centres in their area. Some centres also have a voluntary management committee made up of local residents, elected members and centre users.
The centres offer a range of services and activities for young people delivered by Youth Service staff, and space that community and other external groups can use or hire.
The Council is responsible for routine maintenance, repairs, payment of utilities, rates and salaries of the centre’s employees.
The purpose of this consultation is to give residents and users of our Youth and Community Centres the opportunity to find out more and comment on the current and proposed changes to the ways that our Youth and Community Centres are governed and managed.
Please take the time to read through the documentation available in the 'Documents' menu and to complete the survey available below to give us your thoughts and feedback on the proposals.
If you require this survey in another format, please contact Sue Dolphin, Project Lead Management Committees.
