Beach Base now open!

YOU can now visit Beach Base, a brand-new attraction on Redcar’s seafront, to buy a coffee on the go or an ice cream for the family.

The facility has partly opened while adjustments continue to be made to the venue before its official opening later this month.

Very soon it will become a place to watch or partake in sporting activities right on the coast.

“We are excited about the direction we are moving in and the opportunities that lie ahead,” explained Paul Benson, the marketing and communications manager for Beach Base.

“We are beginning exciting new partnerships with the local sporting community and are inviting anyone with an interest in collaborating with us to reach out to us,” he said.

British Triathlon, British Rowing and British Cycling - the National Governing Bodies for their respective sports – have all endorsed the project with a vision of bringing community activities and local, regional, and national competitions to the hub, including the Go Tri series.

The hub will also offer the opportunity for local organisations to host a range of their own activities and events. The unique shipping container village will be used as a meeting place and an informal base for clubs, school groups, activity leaders, families, and groups of friends. The facility will have toilets, showers, lockers, an equipment store and changing rooms.

“We are privileged to be able to offer such a unique and high-quality facility to the Redcar area, and we look forward to serving the community for years to come,” Paul said.

“In addition to providing a fantastic facility for the Majuba Beach area, we are proud to support the local economy by sourcing our produce from the Yorkshire Dales, our coffee from Great Ayton, and our ice cream from a local Teesside company,” he explained. “We are committed to showcasing the best of what the Redcar area has to offer.”
