Share Will they be anything offered regarding shop rent. Redcar Town is known for its high rent, which prevents new stores opening. The town needs to have more retail shopping to offer. With more variety or the types of stores you offer to bring that type of clients you want to see in the town. Redcar town at the moment I feel very unsafe in with the who the town attracts. This will not change unless you get more trendy and upper class stores and u fortunately Redcar is a area of risk for any store as it doesn't bring in customers, so unless deals can be made I can't imagine this will change. on Facebook Share Will they be anything offered regarding shop rent. Vicky asked over 1 year agoHi Vicky. Rental costs are set by landlords and are determined largely by existing market rates so are outside of council control however, with regards to business rates, reductions and relief, more information can be found here:
Business rates | Redcar and Cleveland (redcar-cleveland.gov.uk)
In regard to town safety, we are working closely with our community development and enforcement teams, as well as PCSO’s and the Police and Crime Commissioner in an effort to reduce antisocial behaviour, crime, and fear of crime.

mikeonfreeserve asked over 1 year agoHi Mike. We're hoping to make visual improvements to the Esplanade through delivery of the Esplanade Improvement Scheme as well as the Culture and Leisure Anchor Attraction. The latter will also provide food/drink facilities with a sea view to compliment existing offerings such as those of the Beacon Lounge and Regent Cinema.

Share Please can i ask why the "Tobermory" paint scheme cant be extended to the other part of Newcomen terrace that really needs it i.e. the terrace that faces Majuba road. These houses are the first that visitors see (in car or on foot), when coming into redcar, and currently they dont present a good image of what redcar is/can be. I also think visitors are as likely to look at these houses than the proposed ones, as the proposed ones are likely to be missed when people are looking at the front/beach etc. Please could you see if the scheme could be extended to these properties as well. chough asked over 1 year agoThank you for your message Colin. At the present time we are only focusing on a limited number of properties on Newcomen Terrace, as this is a key approach into the town centre. The identified improvements have been designed to complement the recent investment in projects such as the Regent Cinema. Whilst unfortunately we don’t have the money to fund the facelift of all properties on this stretch, this is something we could consider if additional funding becomes available.
