The Town Centre Grant Scheme will feed directly into the wider objectives of the Town Centre Transformation by encouraging entrepreneurial activity and growth of the independent sector, whilst heightening the town’s appeal as a retail destination in support of its recovery from Covid-19. The scheme will also serve to create a more vibrant and viable town centre area in pursuit of further private sector investment, leading to an improved perception of the town, increased footfall, dwell-time and spend.
Funding will open from May 2024 until March 2025 subject to final approvals.

The final grant panel will convene in December 2024, no new applications will be accepted beyond this date.

The cut-off for grant awards (payments) is March 17th, 2025.

Below is a brief overview of each of the grant categories with links to their respective EOI’s.

Hi Mike, the Town Centre Grant Scheme is intended to support landlords and tenants with their plans for development, as such, work specifications may be determined by the applicant and will be reviewed on a case by case basis. To bring the upper floors of your property into use for commercial or residential purposes, the 'Above Shops' grant would likely be the most suitable for your plans. If you submit an EOI in the first instance, a member of the team will be in touch ASAP to advise.
