Overfields Primary SALT Unit

The Overfields Speech and Language Unit provides specialist education at Overfields Primary School, for children who have been diagnosed by a Speech and Language Therapist with a developmental language disorder (DLD) and / or severe speech disorder across Redcar and Cleveland and Middlesbrough. 

The Speech and Language Unit offers places across the primary age range with opportunities for pupils in the Unit to receive specialist speech and language therapy and teaching as well as supported teaching and social interaction within the mainstream classes. There are also Outreach places where children receive sessions in their own mainstream school.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and Middlesbrough Council are seeking feedback from families who have used the Overfields Speech and Language Unit and also professionals who have worked with the unit so we know what has been working well and areas for improvement.

The survey is aimed at parents, carers, children and young people and professionals.

There are 12 questions and the survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

Survey closing date is 31st January 2026.
