Eston Precinct Name - Rebrand

As part of our exciting new redevelopment at the Eston Precinct site, we are asking the local community within Greater Eston, both residents and businesses their views on a potential re-name to coincide with the new retail facilities.

The options include:

Eston Arches

The new development reflects the mining heritage of Eston, with the archways to the retail units honouring the design of the old mine shaft entrances.

Eston Precinct

Eston precinct was built decades ago on old farm land near Eston Square. The build was named ‘Eston Precinct’.

Heritage Row

Linking to the rich history within Eston which will be incorporated within the design of the development, and a nod to the naming of the cottages in California (Eston) such as ‘east row’ and ‘west row’.

The Sidings

Based upon the railway sidings for the original mines which have been located around the site, with further links to the mine carts and heritage of Eston.

The development will provide high-quality retail provision and enhance the surrounding area with new paving, trees and benches. The new units will help to attract new retailers and provide a better and more vibrant environment for residents to shop.

We are asking for a steer on the re-brand via the options below; with the deadline for completed responses to be submitted by 5pm, Monday 19th May 2025

For those who wish to vote in person, ballot boxes can be found at Ormesby, South Bank and Grangetown libraries.
