SARAH JOHNSON - College Principal for Redcar and Cleveland College
"By the end of the 2025/26 academic year, we anticipate that at least 212 learners aged 16–18 will have enrolled at Redcar and Cleveland College’s Clean Energy Education Hub, giving them access to a broad and exciting portfolio of courses from Level 2 through to Level 4. Our curriculum includes general vocational programmes alongside T-Levels, covering renewable and clean energy studies, electrical installation, plumbing and heating, and specialist training in solar photovoltaics and ground and air source heat pump technologies — all designed to meet the real needs of the clean energy economy emerging across the Tees Valley.
Learners here won’t just gain qualifications — they’ll develop job-ready skills and industry experience that position them for positive, sustained destinations into higher education and employment in thriving sectors such as offshore wind, hydrogen and de-carbonised industry. Nearly 90% of our young learners already go on to further study or work, and this new Hub will only strengthen those progression routes, ensuring our young people can take full advantage of the high-quality clean energy job opportunities coming to Redcar and Cleveland and the wider region."
